Special, Special Thanks to Marva Allen, Co-Owner of Hue-Man Bookstore

This book would have never existed had it not been for Marva Allen's kindness.  Marva is the co-owner of Hue-Man Bookstore in Harlem, NY.  On December 1, 2004, Muhammad Ali was promoting his new book the Soul of a Butterfly with his daughter, Hana.  Given that Muhammad rarely does public appearances, this event was limited to only 200 tickets.  After seeing this same meet & greet for bid on a popular online auction site, I called Hue-Man Bookstore to confirm Ali's appearance.  I was told by the person on the other end that the event was sold-out.  I explained to the customer service representative  that I really wanted to attend.  She kindly apologized and informed me to try again.  After numerous phone calls to the bookstore, the person on the other end (Marva - I later learned) said, "because of your determination, ya don't quit. I am going to give you my ticket."  I couldn't believe what I just heard.  You have to read the book to learn what else happens.

On Saturday, August 29, 2009, I was re-united with Marva Allen and Hue-Man Bookstore in Harlem, NY.  Although the group was small, the moment was large.

Special Message to Marva:
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Giving me the opportunity to meet my hero Muhammad Ali and to allow me to bring my son, Jo-Jo, is a memory and experience we will cherish the rest of our lives.  As a fatherless child, I try every single day of my life to be the dad, my dad was not.  Thank you!  I am forever grateful.  Peace and Love, felix
