Felix presentation and reader comments...here is what they said:

Felix!
I finished reading your book this morning, it took me about two hours.  I LOVE your book.  It is a must read for kids! I hope you continue publishing Children's books.  The whole feel of the book since I also lived in Waterbury for a while, was great. I felt like I was really there again.  You did a great job!
-Carlos A. V.

"Hey Mr. Rodriguez. I loved your speech at North End. I was one of the kids that read the book. It was really good!"

Re: Classroom Visit

Dear Felix,
Just wanted to let you know that we were thrilled to have you come to our class. I thank you for taking the time to visit with us and to read to the children. Besides being impressed, they are now able to connect "Dad, Me, and Muhammad Ali" with the author ...truly, a wonderful experience to relate to and always remeber.

Many thanks,

-Ana Paris

Re: The Litchfield Review 4th Annual Writers' Conference

Felix,
You were the "hit" of the conference. Thank you,  thank you for your inspiring words, kindness to all, and wonderful story.  My husband and Dean Joe Hadem very much enjoyed having lunch with you. Our students were simply wowed by your achievements. Felix, how fortuitous it is for me to have met you. Please know that you are welcome at Chase Collegiate any time. I look forward to working with you again. Again, my sincere gratitude for all you are and do!

Wow, amazing shook me to my core! So I'm in Hue-Man bookstore waiting for a friend browsing around and saw the cover artwork and the Latino author and just bought the book. After hanging out with my buddy, I hop on the train and start reading and literally couldn't stop. I even wept up a few times when a certain statement you made touched me, but realizing I was on the a train I somehow held it together. I just want you to know that I got your message and thank you for helping me open my own eyes and heart.

I truly enjoy meeting and chatting with our future leaders...that's right our future leaders.  As responsible adults, parents, caregivers, and citizens, we need to compliment, empower, and encourage our youth to believe they can achieve anything in life they choose to pursue.  We need to stop saying You CAN'T or You WON'T...we need to say You CAN and You WILL.  I am a firm believer that Compliments Increase Confidence.  Let's help build our youth's self-esteem.  Let's start today...right now!
